Solitude in a Crowd

I realized today - or yesterday - or since it's 6am the next day and I haven't gone to bed yet since 23 hours ago... I realized - oh wow it's late... 

but that's not what i realized...

I realized sometime within the last 23 hours that one of the reasons I like taking the bus is the sense of quiet and solitude that I get.  Even among a bus or subway car full of strangers, I can feel completely anonymous... and there's a quiet dignity and peacefulness that I get.  

Though large crowds make me anxious - the larger the crowd, the easier to disappear - and as a result, I can just be alone... among strangers.

Am I making sense?  Probably not... I should just get to bed now.
